Background
I graduated from Art Center College of Design and met a lot of creative product designers and graphic designers. One of the innovative and futuristic product designers I came to know is Margaux Reynolds. She has a mind of "Black Mirror" what if creativity. From the first photoshoot project: Port.al, I realized she values analytics and technical designs. This is our third photoshoots for her project and this is her other desk work which she got patented! I got to photograph this finished desk at her newly home in the Hollywood Village right underneath the Hollywood sign! It was a spectacular location.
You can check more about this project on her website: https://www.margauxreynolds.com/amma
Lighting
During Summer, there is no chance the sun would come through North mountain facing window. So I had to improvised with Profoto D2 with Magnum filter with straw and 502 Lee's filter outside of the window. It did create a wonderful accent light. I had to balance with ambient light of the room and the strobe light to make give it a natural look.
This is how ambient light looked at her house when I got here. So this is the first shot I took on my Nikon D800.

My Thoughts
I like the design of the desk. It has IKEA vibe to it but it is made with great detail and simple, warm aesthetic design. I would actually love to have it in the future. What is cool about this desk is that you can change location of where the shelves, cup holder, and pencil case can go. So this is very interchangeable desk where you can customize however you want! Isn't it cool?
