I started stop motion last year in January to take a first step into motion field and toward my goal to become a commercial photographer. I had interested in stop motion ever since I saw Bellroy’s social media and how they utilized stop motion to make a creative motion to show the consumer what their products can do in a fun and unique way. That was 3 years ago and I finally got to start year after I graduated from Art Center. I do have many things I want to learn and imply into my photography as I am branching out into the creative field but I do want to learn surely and indept rather than skimming over.
At first, I did some research and found Dragonframe software is used in stop motion field. It is a simple and straight forward software. There is this motion control category in it and that’s yet I need to learn more about. Next step is to learn bit of engineering and videography. *gulp*
Also found these awesome stopmotion tutorials on youtube .Check it out if you are into stopmotion! They definitely taught me basic of stop motion.
Here is what I did for stop motion in 2019:
For me, I want to make exquisite stopmotion. My inspiration is this photographer in Swedend: Studio Torsne.
I like how he make his own props and and how he execute the idea with great lighting.
After doing stop motion for a year, I learn that it needs to have more patience and executive pre-planned idea. Also, the post-production part is long and tedious. And yet, I do enjoy the process of it and final outcome. I hope I can learn more through my experience and failure and trial. At the moment, I can only do one point-of-view because I need to learn more about motion control and robotic arm.
